    The Box PVR

    Hi Guys,

I've just recently bought The Box PVR with firmware 3.105 updated on the 8th of Dec.

The box keeps rebooting all of the time, the first time it's turned on I have to scan for channels and lasts about 10 minutes before being rebooted by itself.

It then reboots every 2/3 minutes after that.

Has anyone else had problems like this?

I've read some threads about faulty capacitors so i've already tried replacing Capacitor 11 but just the same, keeps rebooting.

Just found the new software AU 241108 - is this any better??

    Thanks,
    Gavin

I've just installed the AU 21112008 - it works for the first 30 mins and then still the same happening the box keeps rebooting every 2/3 mins.

Can't seem to find out what the problem is, any ideas?

Read all the posts in the sticky and i've done exactly what you suggested with the factory reset etc etc...

The installation screen has gone but waiting to see whether it will reboot itself now.

Will let you know what happens.

Nope - didn't work, lasted about 10 minutes after i switched it off and back on again.

Seems to last only 30 minutes after it's been unplugged for some time.

Then it reboots every minute or so.

Any ideas before I get rid of this thing and buy a new box?

Did you buy it second hand m8?
Sounds like it's faulty, take the hard drive out and see if it still reboots m8, if it does it will probably be a problem with the power supply or the main board.

Yeah it was a second hand box.

I've tried it without the HDD and it still does the same thing.

Time to get rid of it unless anyone has any more ideas?
