Help settingup starview 4 box - PLEASE someone help me

hey guys i need help in a bad way.

    been at this all day.

    installed all the .bin files

    repeatedly

    reset factory settings the lot

still finds no channels when i do the search so i downloaded the DUBLIN260109.bin file

which installed all the channels frequencies but it still tells me no signal.

i have detached the chorus box completly and the lead runs directly from the wall to the star box and still nothing.

    what can i try?

any and all help is very much so appreciated.

Try going into menu and key in 1570 and make sure keycode/emu is set to on. Hope this helps mate!

hey lanxman , thanks for your reply,

i tried that too but it doesnt seem to do anything.

i've been scouring the net for the last two days trying any and all .bin files and still nothing.

the dublin one was the only one to install channels but still no picture or reception.

when i restore factory settings it knocks off all the chanels that the dublin file found.

I may be wrong about this but haven't you guys switched over to a different encryption? Might play a role?
I take it you have tried different symbol rates too.

Have you tried to autoscan on other providers?

            JoK

yep its in the cable input connection and i've ran the auto scan on all the providers that are listed.

all keep saying no new channels found.

i am at a total loss as to what to try next. i dont understand how there is no signal to the box

ok when on any chanel if i press either the sig button or the s.l. button the signal strength screen comes up.

              on it it says:

              Frequency: 339500 MHz

              Constellation: 64QAM

              Symbol Rate: 6887Msps

and in another box on screen under the heading UNLOCK

two what i would say are for lack of a better term progress bars or indicators

called level or Quality both of which have 0% over them

Where are you in Ireland, the Dub CDF is for Dublin. If you are on CHorus is it MMDS or cable?

                  I am in Kilkenny.

Chorus and Chorus Cork are coming up as options.

i only came accross the dublin file by chance and thought it might work.

i think its an mmds connection.

its chorus digital anyway. how will i determine this?

So your original chor*s box works but the sv4 wont find anything, not even FTA channels?

                    JoK

there is a dish / aerial on the roof and the cable runs down and in through the wall then.

there is a box on the mains lead for the chorus box that it then connects to and then to the chorus box.

i have tried it with it connected and disconnected from this box.

i can get a signal on none of the channels at all.

i dont know what else to try i have tried every way listed on the forums here and elsewhere all to no avail.

It wont work as you have Chorus MMDS. They use a DVB T variant and you have a DVB C box. You need to swap it for one of the many DVB T type boxes on the market at the moment.

If you then take the coax lead out of the chorus box and put it into the cable input of sv4, when you scan on your provider you then get no channels??

I am just trying to work out what you are doing with the coax cable, as I said I'm in UK and dont know the Irish setup

                        JoK
i tried this way first just removing the connection from the chorus box and when i ran the scan no channels are found.

so i disconnected all the chorus connection and just connected it straight to the starview box and reset the factory settings and ran the .bin files again and then the scan again and still no new channels are found.

when i found the dublin file i installed it and it found all the channels but when i try to look at them it just says no signal.
