    SV HD Combo Help please

I have a starview 7 box (cable side), with needing a new subscription I am looking at going the satellite side.

I already have an old s*y dish on the side of my house (not used in over 3 years) I will get a new LNB, new coax and line up the dish.

First can I use this dish with the HD combo?

If I purchase the SV HD Combo, can I watch using the cable side (I know that cable is working, I have been using it with the starview 7 box). Allowing me some time to sort the satellite side of things? (don?t want to miss the football this weekend). Bit concerned about lining the satellite.

Also can you still buy a new SV HD Combo (seen some on flea bay but that?s all.) if its only flea bay anything I need to look out for?

Would I need to purchase 2 subscriptions, 1 cable, 1 satallite?

Flashed a few starview boxes over the years so quite comfortable with flashing to the spider alternative.
    Many thanks in advance

the cable side on the combo does not work as they promised a fix just like the sv7 but never arrived,if your buying a combo make sure it has the lan connection as the older one is just a freesat box because of no lan,its an old box now .
with the old sly dish if it has not moved maybe good go go/work and all you need is a sat box to connect up + a sub to view which we cant talk about.
there are other better sat boxes out there,it depends on what budget you are on.

Ok thanks if I was after a sat box (approx ?200) what would you recomend?

I would like HD but keep my old dish (misses says moto dishes look ugly)

I would need a noobs guide.

I have had various star view boxes for the last 4 years flashed a fair boxes and understand about looking elsewhere for card sharing.

      Many thanks in advance

2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

Just been looking on flea bay and can get a Starview hd combo WITH LAN for ?50.

would this work with cable and satellite.

Bit concerned if sat dish does not work at leasti would still have cable to fallback on.

If works would sell Starview box and get dreambox (believe a lot better)

Dont know if I am able to ask but how much a month does it cost per month / year. Starview subscription was ?25 for 6 months

no i said cable does not work with the starview combo,it does work with the starview 7 with a sub.,dreambox is a lot better and its open sourced [ many different groups can do images ] with starview you are limited as its closed source, have a read in the sat section as there is plenty there to wet your appetite.

there is no firmware for cable to work as we speak.
