Will my starview 7 still work?

Im having the phone line cut off and basic tv channels

no, ya need cable tv feed and ethernet connected.

so i need to pay virgin for the basic tv channels is that what you mean? I was under the impression that my broadband feed would be enough

thats what the cable connection at the back of the box is for, to recieve the tv signals, the ethernet connection is connected to c/s server

maybe other way is to use a splitter as you are going to need a coaxial cable hookup to scan for channels and a lan connection for hookup to the internet,but it may depend on what signal level you get as it may be lower.
both connections needed all the time.

box will work fine, they wont take cable going to tv away. well its been working for friends with just internet for over a year

Had mine working(before I went sat) and only ever had the broadband

you split the cable feed through a digital splitter, as the tv and bb come down the same cable.
split it using a digital splitter and a couple of patch leads, send one toyour modem and one to the box.
