Starview 2 The Box

Hi everyone, im new to Digital Kaos so forgive me if my question is a one simple to answer because i have no idea how these things work. My cousin gave me his box which needs an update does anybody have the update and how do i update the box? thanks.

ive got all the downloads just wondering how to update the box and what do i need?

First of all make sure you have the latest firmware on the box. Should be 4.57
You check this from the menu - System setup/System information
If you haven’t got 4.57 you can download it from the sticky threads with the loader(4.03).
Download 4.57 + loader 4.03 to your desktop .
Open the file you downloaded to desktop. Extract the Bin file and loader to you r PC (remember where you saved the files)
Plug you Box into your Pc using RS232 female to female Null modem serial cable. (or USB to 9pin female cable- you will probably need the drivers for the usb. You can find these in the download section)
Locate the files you extracted and open the loader application 4.03. When box appears click on the Bin File button. Select the bin file 4.57 you saved to your PC. Press download and wait till it has reached 100%
Once you have flashed the new firmware go into the menu and do a factory reset.
Rescan the box choosing your local cable provider.(N*L etc) Choose english-autoscan
Once the channels have saved, exit out 3 times.
Press menu and then 1570 you will go into another secret menu.
Highlight the default key and press ok.
Then scroll down to the emu and turn it on.
Exit out and put your box onto a S*y sp1
Wait for it to update. This may take a while.
You should be now all up and running

thanks for your help iv got to get hold of an rs232 cable first then il have a go at it. il let you know how i get on. thanks once again.

i have got stuck for starview2 the box my reciever was on and no work my remote so could tell me what can i do also when you turn on the box doesn't apear tv

I do it for 4.57 a two days a go but still i got same problem and i have genuine please i need help.

you need to flash the bin logo file on it aswell as the 457.00 firmware.if you have flashed it with the 457.00 firmware reconnect your box to your pc or laptop and install the bin logo file using the backround data file option on your loader. the box logo will then show on your tv and you will be able to access the menu.
then do a factory reset on your box,set default ,set emu to on, and then auto scan ,then when it has finished leave on sly sports 1 to update.

bro. i doned in the logo bin file but still i got same problem and i don't know what wrong my box

hey jok i have used this bin file on starview 2,3 and 4 and its worked every time .i think the logo file is the same for all the starview boxes m8 because i have only ever had one saved on my pc and its worked on all.thanx m8.
