    SV4 USB Fav Channel Sorting

Hi everyone - just updated to FW 1.07 in the hope that the ability to edit/sort channels has been resolved - Still having same problem though - when I go into the menu then channel edit, the sort and move options are still greyed out and the EPG is very temperamental - is anyone else having this problem? does anyone know of a fix to enable these settings

    cheers guys TDk

Have you tried the SC4CE, (channel editor). Its Beta and has a bug or two,( e.g. cannot rename favourites ), but it will allow you to move channels within their groups.

There will be another editor out with these issues sorted, but no timescale as yet. The author is a bit busy

I have put it in downloads for you Digital Kaos - Downloads - Starview 4 Channel Editor (Beta)

It is still at Beta stage but is OK to use I have used it but as said just a few bugs to iron out, e.g Favourite names cannot be stored.

Here are the release notes from the author:

It's pretty-much a re-write from the beginning compared to the SVCE. It is only intended for use (at the moment) with channel data files backed up from the SV4 (TheBox Super USB).

The current state of it allows you to:-
edit channel data including PIDs etc,
move or delete single or multiple channels,
renumber channels to your own choice,*
auto-renumber channels from 'a' in steps of 'n',**
        edit or add TP data,
        export to SV1 format,
        export to Excel spreadsheet.

        * The auto-renumber will affect the categories in which the channels appear as the SV4 seems to sort them according to their channel number.

        ** Value ranges are: a=1~3000, n=1~10.

        Channel Data
The first column is the index which is just the original channel (scanned) order in the data file. It's for keeping track & cannot be edited & doesn't need to be. It gets re-generated in the file you save after editing.

Channel edit etc is invoked using right-click in the main grid area rather than typing directly in the various fields. From there you can then edit all the channel info, including the PIDs.

Channel move is the same as before so you can highlight & move multiple channels.

A few report options have been included - namely TP, TV & Radio lists.

The current channel data setup can be exported in SV1 format for use on original Starviews. It simply renumbers the channels from 1+ automatically on export to suit the SV1.

The Excel export feature saves all displayed channel & TP data to a *.XLS file for use with Excel or OpenOffice.

The status bar at the bottom is just for displaying messages & current or recent activity.

        To Do...
Add export in SV2 format for TheBox files. Maybe also for SV3 & PVR, but their files already sort the channels.
Add auto-renumber of only selected channels. e.g. Select all the 3000+ range.
Add support to open & edit SV1, SV2, SV3 & PVR but this is a huge job so will probably have to wait.
