    Help Please with SV 1

Hi guys I guess some help is needed here please for flashing SV1. I am not familiar with this type of boxes; some assistance is required and well appreciated.
    - I have connected SV 1 to my PC with modem null (RS 232 ? 9pin) to my USB port.
    - GTRom loader automatically set itself to com port 1.
    - Uploaded Nin File to GTRom.
    - Clicked on download button.
    - Switched the SV 1 on.
After a few second an annoying window opened saying that ?flash up date fail...?
Any idea what went wrong? The Bin File description (thebox_h20081222_457eE_api.bin)
please help if you can thanx.

You are using the wrong firmware, you need the SV1 firmware. http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-v1-5-a-20848/ and the loader should be gtromloader 4.00.

The link contains two files one for a genuine box and one for a clone. You will see the description in the download section. If you are unsure in regards to if its a clone or genuine, use Cryptstar 257 (the clone FW), as it is fine on both genuine and clones boxes.

Are you sure its a Starview 1?

you need crypstar v 1.5 for origernal or clone

check if clone or origernal before you brick it.

As said above just use the clonesafe firmware it works on both genuine and clones. If you look down through the grills on the top of the box you will see the heatsink on the cpu, if it has a spikey appearance its a clone. Also look for red glue marks on the board screws.

Yep I have looked through the grill and I noticed that the heatsink has 8 fins separeted by a gap (4fins space and 4 fins) and I have opened the box there is no red glue marks on the board screws they are all brassy looking.
            Cheers

Its a genuine SV1 you can use CryptStar-v1.5-Core400.

After flashing the box, do a factory reset, then rescan and turn your key emu back on. That should be it.

To turn on key emu, press menu - type 1570 on RC - enable it. When scanning make sure you have selected the correct provider and you are scanning from the direct feed. Take out any splitter if you are using one.

Just heading off, hopefully that will sort it, if not just post back, like yourself there is always good people here to help out
