Play avi files

Is it possible to put avi file on to usb and play it by plugging it into usb at back of starview 4 box, just curious any advice would be appreciated many thanks.

I've tried converting the avi files to ts files and then connecting via usb but there is no sound and the pictureframe speed is jumpy. Not sure how to correct this?

What software did you use to convert to TS? I've had a look at this and couldn't get it to work at all. There seems to be 2 files for each recorded program (in normal operation) - .PVR and G&T. If I can get the TS I may be able to help with playback quality.
