    Starview 2 The Box

Been updating as one does with no problems, last week my mothers Starview 2 The Box went down, stuck on The Box logo screen and freezes there, no "ON" display though just the lines cycling till it stops / freezes. It was previously on 4.54 or 4.55 with no issues, however it was one of those boxes that required the logo flash n stuff to update to 4.54 or 4.55 cant remember. Auto update was ok, everything really. Rather than mess about i got the latest 4.57 firmware with loader from this site. Now with it being stuck at logo screen i had to ready the loader, switch on machine then start loader (as suggested in other posts) it appeared to prevent the logo screen appearing and the green led's cycle across the view and the loader did its thing to 100%. Flash burn ok. All went well flashed ok rebooted, factory reset, turn on key emu, sky sports to update, everything ok. Mother takes it home and bam back to the logo freeze screen again. So repeated process but this time doesnt appear to be flash burning even though the loader completes properly. Reboots straight to the logo screen from what i can see. Is the channel data missing ? Is the boot file corrupt or something missing ? Have tried all of the firmwares back to 4.52 (with correct loaders). Same problem. Stumped now so open to suggestions !

worth trying it this way m8 nothing to loose. try hard boot flash .
plug box in mains with power on but switch box of at the back ,set up you loader to download , click download first wait a second then switch box on at the back. leave till complete ,
you may need to do this a few times m8 if it keeps failing.

Tried 4.54 then logo and interestingly with flashing logo seperate i dont get a reboot just constant scrolling green led's with no logo onscreen just blank. Switched machine off then back on, still scrolling green led's with blank screen. Moved on to next phase which was to flash 4.57 and all goes well exept on reboot im back to the stuck on logo screen with the frozen led's. One thing i have noticed with all firmwares is that after 100% transfer it then goes onto burning flash. At this point the led's stop scrolling. Is this normal ? I also have to be honest ive worked on quite a few of these from different resellers and i have to say at least 50% are fit for the bin within months of purchase. I only had my own approx 4 mnths and it died totally. A friend purchased the Starview 3 Super and in 3 days the some front led's were dead. Starting to believe these are really bad / cheaply made. And in all honesty wouldn't recommend them anymore.

          *** Update ***

Whilst browsing another forum it turns out many people have this problem. The reason is they are cloned boxes and from a very reputable dealer as i ordered this particular one myself. Another user had starview 1 clone in a starview 2 cloned case. This box has 8 x 20 vents, looking from the front the scarts are to the right as one would expect on the box. This one isnt a starview 1 in the wrong case just a starview 2 clone. Thanks for all the replies guys.

there is a problem with a lot of these boxes being cloned m8 and not lasting very long ,i have come across a few recently.
if you are going to buy another box m8 ,use a reputable supplier like Skywonder Ltd who sell 100% gen boxes.
