Do you know anyone else with a cable feed and you can try it on theirs.
That's the best thing you can do now and it will tell us whether the box is defective.
Also check the connection at the end of the cable were it screws into the Rf connector adaptor

4 did the box come with firmware on it
5 can u see a silver heat sink through the grills on the box

Just checked the RF connector, cant see a prob with it. I will ask around Im new to this area, so I can try the box elsewhere.No I dont have a virgin tv box, I am using the feed from my broadband.Yeah I am using the broadband feed goin in to the cable box.Rochdale, near Manchester.It didnt have firmware on it I dont think. Ive checked for the heatsink and there isnt one, Ive also been on a website to check pics, even the plug look genuine. Ive done it, I changed the rf connectiona nd got the virgin media channels. I will now follow the instructions to het the other channels.

Use V Box as well??

I am just about to hook up my starview 4, but am concerned v will notice the lack of talkback.... I really dont want to use 2 boxes and a splitter - would be much neater with just the SV4.... Do you think this could be a problem - I have read mixed views??

why not use two boxes get a booster have vm box in kitchen or bedroom and sv4 in main room solves all problems

I only have a tv in the lounge, so really only need one box, also will not use the on demand stuff so really no need to have the vm box as well.... But if you guys think i need to I will have to. Let me know your thoughts. If I do definately need to, can you reccomend a splitter?

I bought a Starview 4 box from DVBJUNKIE and it came with s/w version 1.10. Should i downgrade it to v1.07? I currently get all channels after the rescan with EMU on. The only issue i have is that when selecting channel using the numeric pad on the remote control i am unable to change the channels.. I have to use the EPG.
