forcing proper factory reset on sv7

    Problem fixed.

If you have this problem flick over to a premium channel and type 1819 on remote
It will show enabled and will connect.
    ================================================== ==============

Have two boxes thrown back at me on the same day with same problem.

Both people did a factory reset after losing channels and lost the expiry date in line 5 of system info.

Instead of connect or not connected it has ---- instead

Both boxes are due to run til sept 2012

I have tried every flash I have but no joy, so factory reset it myself ONLY IT HAS NOT DONE SO

A factory reset would not have "221" firmware on the info page.

anyone able to suggest how to get it back to proper factory condition please.

Could I for instance back up files off a second box (the one in picture) which is not currently active but shows expiry

All I know is it is NOT a factory reset

    appreciate anyone who can help.

a factory reset on a cable box should only erase the channel data, hence needing a rescan, reflashing firmware changes the previous one on it,if you found a fta firmware same as when box arrives to you,it needs updating/flashing with an upto date firmware.

      Thanks

as above edit at 5.50pm I just needed to type 1819 in

HOWEVER you would think a factory reset would be that, not just a removal of some settings

          1. as per edit at 5.30 pm I sorted it
          2. it's not a sat box, it's cable
          3. Factory reset DOES NOT set it to factory settings.

please read both my posts regarding solution thanks
