    Sview1 clone lost chans

    Hi All

I have a Starview One Clone in Ex c&w area (i've tried telewest too and its the same), certain movie channels are not being found. I've factory re-set 3 times, set default key and turned on key emu every time. All other channels are there (306 of them). Any help/advice appreciated.

Update, i've now re-flashed box to start from scratch and found even less channels (287 this time)

if you post up your area (region) someone may be able to post a channel list which you could flash to your box. it could be that you are getting a poor signal in your area.

i am in a different area so cant help im afraid.

My area is Derby. Never had probs before today, i've tried both ex c&w and tw. Every time i scan i find a different amount of channels, but none that i could identify. Prob radio or living channels. Signal strength would make sense but wold VM really let these movie channels suffer? I'm scratching my head

It sounds like a signal problem, but it may be a weak TP. Are you scanning from the direct feed, i.e. no splitters?

Yes its split, I get my broadband through the 'other' box. I've just done a switch off and twiddled with all the wires to make sure they're tight, now re-scanning.....
Out of interest whats a weak TP? Thanks for your patience

A weak frequency. If you are carrying out an initial full scan take out the splitter. If all channels are fine then add the splitter back. If by adding the splitter back you get break up on some channels, then you need to change the splitter.

              transponder.

i have a similar problem with my dreambox. 1 transponder is variable. a booster sorts it but see if you can get a channel list first. mind you buy one out of argos and if it doesnt sort your problem take it back..

Right I just scanned and found 200 Channels. Thing is movies were back. Now im master resetting and doing a full re-scan. I'll see what happens and if i'm not hitting over 300 i'll take out the splitter and do a direct connection. I think you've both hit the nail on the head, i'll post the results........ Thanx very much to you both

....Did another scan and found no channels. Tried it from the wall and found 309 channels, all of them back where they should be. I think its the splitter, if i just touch it the picture starts to break up. Thank you both so much for your help, the clone workhorse just heeps on going no matter how many times i give up on it

No problem, it could also be a faulty lead.
