    Starview clone help

    I am trying to flash a starview for my friend it has 18x7 vents on the top and has the 2.60e_E api version. I understand this is a clone because of the vent setup, I have tried the 1.4/1.5 crypstar for clone boxes and every time it just says failed. I was reading somewhere that because it is the old version I might have to flash it with something else before the 1.5 would work.

    Anyone have any idea?

      hmmm interesesting u might have 2 flash it withv257 for clones before u use the crypt 1.5 for clones,have u flashed using that cable before.

              Yeah, I have flashed many boxes with it. I am using a usb adapter but I don't think it's at fault. This is the first clone box I have seen though and it just fails at 0% which makes me think that the firmware is wrong or it is not a clone but it has 18x7 vents. I tried the 257 firmware too all of them failed. I don't wanna risk using genuine firmware.

                  hi pal the sv 1 clone safe firmware works on genuine boxes so i would say its not the wrong firmware if you open it up.

                  board chip to the left of cpu EtronTech = clone .

                  On the Original this is made by samsung also note the writing below that

                  clone has a extra line the original only has GCR3510CX REV.B
                  2005.09.05

                      m8 the vents on the box is not a complete n reliable guide whether or not it s a clone..see the thread above or there s a site called attack of the clones for more infro

                          im new to this but i was told the 257 will work on both clone and origy so use that to be save and check that you null cable is not faulty
