    Finding channels but not updating

    Hello DK,
I?m having problems with my SV3. I?ve been reading lots of the posts and have tried a few things with no joy.
I have gone through the 1570 panel and put in the keys manually, turning emu and keycode on. The receiver (on automatic scan) finds the channels but when I return to S*S1 it stays on ?Updating Data...0%? - I?ve also read that, Ch up and Ch down will set it off, and it does, reaching 70% and crashing back or sometimes 100+% and then going back to 0%.
I?ve done a factory reset too and turned it off for a while at the back switch. Still no luck.
I'm sure the box is on 8.04e and the new keys I have since Dec 09.
Now I?m not PC based so Chatterbox is sadly not a option ? I also didn?t flash the box myself (again don?t work off a pc) but have flashed SV4?s an a number of occasions with no problem.
    Thanks for your time
    J

N**. Others in the Dublin area are not having any problems and I'm on the same keys.

Yes, I've saved the keys - Been trying it daily since last Thursday (so I go at it fresh).
As I don't work off a PC the thought of flashing it is a disaster - is the factory reset not enough?

Perhaps its time to upgrade to the easy of SV4 USB?

if u try a set default key to clear first, then enter data on 00 line, recheck and press ok for 4 secs to store,go back to 00 line and use the< or > to change to 01,enter data, recheck, and press ok for 4 secs to store,
all boxes needed a fix from nov/dec to overcome last problem.

Using a old Mac with none of your fancy RS-232 cable access.
Also doesn't allow me download toolbars.

Thanks, I've tried this alright. The box did go down in December last. I was able to get it working again putting the keys in manually and auto scan. This doesn't seem to work now.

I've bought a USB serial converter - I'll see if I can get the box to talk to the computer.

Thanks for all your help lads.

UPDATE: The USB serial converter is male and so is the box. Back to the store.

Anyone ever used a Mac to flash a box?

Thats your problem you cannot use/flash the firmware with a Mac as its a Windows app.

It is possible but you would need to use a Windows emulator, which costs unless you know where to look for it. As I am not a Mac user I have not looked for it, I think I heard there may even be an opensource one floating around.

To be honest I would ask a friend or family if I could use their PC as it is the easiest option.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams
