t box north manchester

right a mates got a starview box with ver: 5.01 Ee fom what i.ve read that makes it a t box now he says he has had it working ok a couple of years ago. but according to what i've read it should be in either ireland or chorus area.
he lives in north manchester which is nthell now v/m will it work there or is he telling me porkies instructions in box say to programe to cw?
any help to clear this up would be great many thanks fat-frank

If it says The Box "T" on the front of the reciever then as you suspect it will not work as it is only for Chorus MMDS areas in Ireland.

correct it should have box t on front of unit and i dont know a v5.01,all t box only work in irl.
get him to look at name on front of unit and also check what vers is on box.
all starviews 1.2.3.4 can be used in uk.

cactikid i connected box up the ver is defo 5.01Ee which i've read on here should be a t box i've tried loading i think it was 5.67 firmware and give it him back he's a mate but he's not got back yet to say if it works or not. anyway thanks for input fat-frank

interesting if it worked as t box is made for irl only as there is a setting in menu to power up downconverter for aerial on roof.

little bit more info the box is silver letters on front say DV3 but the version defo is 5.01 i'am thinking maybe clone.
but mate updated me yesterday saying he has some but not all channels????? anyway thanks for your input in helping a newbie fat-frank bythe way i'm a not so bitter blue but a proud manc.

one last thing it only says the box not super and is a few years old

if it just says the box it is a starview 2 unit dvb/c.
if it says the box t it is a mmds box chorus irl only dvb/t
