starview box

hi all im new here so here goes.. ive just got a starview box,i think the first one. its silver. when i plugged it in all the channels say no signal,i checked the scart and wires were correct but still the same. i think the software as something like version 1.something....do i need to update the software,ifso were do i get it from. sorry to be a pain..us newbys usually are..forgot to say im in teeside. thanks.

unless its a sv6 or sv7 (with ethernet socket) - bin it

no theres no ethernet socket on it so would that make it unusable.

its only a fta channel box and radio works also.

ive got loads of channels now but i get the fta channels..the other channels have a little dollar sign on them.

yes there the scrambled ones you cannot decode.
