Been told from the starview team boxes with this code are older boxes with a different eeprom chip and a lot of them when flashed with the new update the boxes cant handle it and thats when the red and green light comes on or just a red light and they are no good so a new box is req.

can nothing be done then! I read on an older post that by connecting a rs232 modem cable from box to pc and then using flash wizard pro 6.3 you can get it to work again.

it may work on old firmware with fta only, but once you use the new firmware back to the red light again.
thats one way of dumping old boxes off there place to allow the new boxes to work .
so now will you buy another starview or euroview.?

your box number starts with 104?,thought it was only 101 and 102 effected .you may have to ask over there and say you have a red light and number says 104,dont have a box and i think they wont let me near it .

There were a load of reports of red and green lights and also just red lights, after the latest release.

You could also check for bloated caps on the power board, but I doubt you'll see any........the Starview flu strikes again..

                        Starpew blew my box

                        Hi all,
I have had the same prob - solid red led. Looked inside for blown fuse etc. but just put it back together again. Guess what! my second box has followed suite and done the same, this time solid green led. No buttons will do anything.
After reading the above posts, Im very pissed off cos I have only just paid subs for both boxes!
How can starview justify blowing peoples boxes with their firmware!
I hope it is not a diliberate act cos if they knew of the problem, why didnt they warn anyone?

If any kind soul out there knows a way to get the boxes back, I will be eternally gratefull

if they want you off their s@rver,box is now removed and allows new boxes to join into it,people were warned but not listened,i feel sorry for the mass who have topped up their piggy banks and not even fta left.,why do you think there were so many models of starview=to force you to buy the latest one.

Obviously, updating subs is at my own risk but I did not expect this underhand tactic to push people out, I wouldn't have lost any sleep over it if I had any pre-warning cos I wouldn't have shelled out another 50 quid but there you go - I suppose it was the final push I needed to go the sat route!
