    Starview 1 help

    Hi,

Have flashed numerous s/v 1's with no problems and up until today haven't needed to flash for several months.

My problem is - I think I have gone mad!!

I have needed to flash a box and on doing so thought It would rectify the problem of the box not auto updating and switching to 0 for no apprent reason. I have now flashed the box 6 times and it still hasn't worked.

Would anyone be able to help me? Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. The box is not a clone.

                  Hi glad your're back!

tried the resolutions you bods have advised - but I now am getting the problem of the box getting to 89% on the scan then going to 0, switching itself off, then going back to english screen.

Anyone had similar problems? Any ideas or is it bin time!!

Many thanks to all who have already helped.

If it is constantly rebooting and "0" is displayed on the LCD, you need to replace the C11 capacitor.

You can replace it with a 16V 1000uf cap from Maplins, costs about 50p.

                      Hi satsmo

That's great but is it hard to replace? Do you need to have a brain to do it?

No its easy enough to do if you are competent at soldering. If you are not confident at doing it, bring it to your local electrical/TV repair shop.

Tell them what needs replacing and they will do it for a few quid.

                            Hi Gazza

No I don't have a splitter - the box is straight into the wall

ok then if all else fails update it maually

they are old boxes anyway soon they will be obsolite so it mite be worth investing in a new 1
