Hi Guys,
I am back again, just to say thank you to all the people who replied to my last post ( i think its been deleted now, must be something to do with the site going down and db restore), nevertheless i am back
Just waiting for NTL to install the line at home, tested the box at a mates house and it all works fine. For any newbies like me here is the process i followed:
1. Plug in the starview 4; attach the cable feed to the cable input on the back of box
2. Plug the box in to the TV using the usual scart lead.
3. Download the required firmware from download section here, latest version is 1.7 for uk and 1.9 for ireland.
4. Format your usb drive to FAT32
5. Copy logo & bin file to usb drive (copy/paste)
Note:
Once you have wired everything up to tv and switch on sv4, the first screen that comes up is the logo screen saying "The Box Super USB" if this comes up then there is no need for logo file.
6. Whilst starview is off - Insert the usb pen drive at the back of the box
7. Flick on the power switch also at the back of the box
8. Power the box on with the remote.
9. Now the box is on - press menu on the remote
10. Scroll down to the usb option in menu and hit ok,
11. Here you will see the files on the pen drive.
12. Highlight 1.07 firmware file and press ok.
13. Highlight the logo file and press ok. (do this only if you need the logo file)
14. Once the firmware/logo files have loaded onto the box:
15. Go back into menu and highlight installation and choose automatic scan hit ok
16. Choose the provider for the area you are in and Select the correct one and hit ok.
17. The box should now pick up the desired channels.
18. Go into menu and key in 1570 with the remote,
19. This will bring you to the secret menu.
20. Highlight keycode and change it to ON.
21. Now you?re all set to scan
22. Exit out and put your box onto a premium
23. Box will autoupdate and you should be able to see the channel.
Hope that helps someone else
