got a stv4 coming tommo and just wondered would it work on my virgin cable straight away out of the box i am a complete novice

It will only work for FTA channels, very much doubt it will have the f/w installed for getting the extra channels

u can get the firmware from this site either from the red sticky s at the top of page or in the download section ...theres also a tutorial how to flash ur box in the downloads section u need winrar to open it u can get that in the downloads section in the p c part ..if u get stuck ,,ask theres plenty of good peeps who will try n help

have down loaded the correct f/w but dont know how to get it from pc to the stv4 box the tutorial for setting up just displays in french i think can not understand sorry if i sound thik
