so i would take the main feed run that in the "in section of the splitter and then run a cable out of each of the "out" sections of the splitter and run one out cable to cable in on the back of the vm box and then the other cable to the cable in on the SV4 box ??? is that right ???

what would happen if i plugged the sv4 box directly to the main feed without splitter?? does the sv4 have feed back?

Yes that is the correct assumption. Nothing would happen if you plugged the SV4 into the direct feed. In fact its recommended to carry out the initial scan from the direct feed.

A splitter is used to share the cable feed between STBs and/or Broadband modems. If you have a subscribed box from VM it is recommended to keep it on the feed via a splitter to keep it updated and for VOD services if used as this requires talkback.

A Starview 4 along with all these other closed and open sourced boxes do not have talkback.
