you could look at it another way, at the moment your starview is useless and worthless in ireland, sold on ebay here in uk could fetch 40/50quid max so for less than a months sky sub you could have your channels back if you get more than a month its a steal. i would be tempted to go for it.Comment

Considering there are still a good chunk of channels still on 1800 and it has taken this long to get certain tiers across to N2/N3.
However there is a lot more work to be done to tie in a full changeover of encryption. Change however is going to happen as said but just not that quick. Although they are not far off just a basic package now in exNTL areas of Ireland on most modded boxes as of now. With the exception of both the Kryptview and Itgate boxes of course.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment

No one knows for sure but according to their own press release the third quarter of this year is their prediction. But thats according to the provider.
The fractured nature of cable distribution in Ireland is not helping them as you can see. Unfortunately as you can see those in exNTL cable areas are going first.
The deal you are been given looks like a good one given what is clearing on a Starview in Ireland. But like anything in this hobby its also a gamble.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas AdamsComment
