hello im new to this thread and havnt gota clue whats goin on with my starview 4..i cannot get sky sports 1,3 ,xtra but am getting sky sports 2... but the channel is named ts34 or somthing. im using the latest firmware also and am in the bristol area..any help please?

thanks i have tried all of this already..have even tried the earlier flash 1.07..when i scan it doesnt even show any of the sports except sky sports 2 with channel listing ts36..

i do though have to keep disconnecting my cable feed so i can use my interet as i have a splitter but the signal is not strong enough to get all the channels on the cable box whilst using splitter... do you think leaving it connected overnight might help?

have done this alreay....im really confused as i have sky sports 2 on channel ts34 ..why doesnt sky sports show up on scan as sky sports and not ts34..have just finished scanning again still only getting sky sports 2..this is driving me nuts...help please and thanks for all the replies so far

Hi all, just joined the forum.
Was thinking about buying one of these but having read the posts re the 88xx error code and the need for reflashing via an RS232 signal converter cause the box does not have a full RS232 port built-in have put me off.

I'm having the same problem. All channels were working except Sky Sports 1 and this happen every other day.

can any1 enlighten us please????? i only got this box 4 the sports channels and im only getting sky sports 2...y doesnt my box scan them in properly?? do i have to do manual scan and if so what is the frequency for sky sports??

ok thanks my provider is or was telewest but now virgin and i live in bristol

The latest firmware is not required for UK only Ireland, although people say it is working in UK alright. Maybe try putting second latest back on the box and seeing what happens then?

starview 4 8882 error code

I have tried to update my starview 4 with the latest firmware 1.10 but i now have an error on my box saying 8882 on the front and will not start up. how can i sort this problem or is it a new box ?

assume you did not turn your box off before you took usb stick out,or put it back in. thats probably your problem.. a bit more reading of these forums would have prevented this. canbe repaired.. just look in the stickies.. ynwa
