Arrrrrrrrrgh help please

Rushed home from work with my SV4 followed idiots guide ( twice over ) firmware and logos loaded but still cannot get any channels when I scan,

Could anyone tell me if me only having anologue cable service up to now makes any difference when using a digital box.

Panic over

looks like I could have solved it , wrong cable plugged in !! . Did scan and getting channels soem of which have $ but I believe that has something to do with 1570 so will check that
