    starview 2 (the box) help please

    hi guys, iv got a sv2 (the box) with firmware v4.57 on, works fine for a bit then i start losing channels an the only way i know how to get them back is do a factory reset, but i lose my fav channel listings which take me ages to sort ha.

    can anyone help me please

      why factory reset not try scanning without resetting

          the two is a bugger to manually sort the channels by the remote, but luckily it is the easiest by software (well I only have a pvr and a 2 to compare). I am gonna have a look later at the software you need, its on the upstairs computer. Anyway, this is a bump for your thread, and i will be back to u if no one else sorts u out.

              Make sure you got your factory reset and key code right before scanning.

                  Suggest you rescan as others have suggested.

                  FYI - You can backup your fav channel data to your desktop using gtrom 4.03 loader. Hook up your box via null modem select "Channel Data File" radio button and click "Upload". This will prompt you to name your backup channel data BIN file.

                  If you need to reflash you can then restore your favourite using gtrom loader again. Select "Channel Data File" radio button, select your BIN file and click "Dowload".
