Starview 4 Dead but still power going round!!

My starview 4 went down a few weeks back after a power cut and wont even go to stand-by now. I did flash it with v1.10 firmware the week before and was recieving (box invalid) message. The box is a 100% Defo not a clone!!!
I have tried to reflash it with the old v1.07 but nothing happens in the bootloader and have checked all my com ports as i am using the max 232 to usb converter.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH IS??
IS MY BOX DEAD FOR GOOD??

Early genuine models are also killed by the later firmwares. The message you got was a warning which indicates that the bootloader will not start again once powered down.

Unfortunately you had a power cut. There is no fix as it requires a Jtag and the information on jtag points and type of jtag is not available yet.

If its under warranty send it back and ask for a replacement. Its a genuine box and has been killed by the latest firmware, your supplier should change it as they are aware of this problem even the manufacturer is aware at this stage.

Always stick with 1.07 in the UK.

as far as i remember the max has to be wired up inside box and you need a null modem cable and com port and xp as it will not work with usb.
nice one satsmo best to keep away from this one until fixed again .

i see a little red light on the back of my dead starview 4 box .i dont have an old computer with a seriel port .:i have a laptop with vista .what cables would i have to get and were can i get them to jtag the box or should i try and send it back.:
