Scanning for new channels?

Newbie to this, well relatively new so....

What I want to know is, when scanning for new channels or those that are missing, do you have to do a factory reset each time or can you just re-scan and it picks them up and saves them?

What I want to know is, when scanning for new channels or those that are missing, do you have to do a factory reset each time or can you just re-scan and it picks them up and saves them?

If you don't factory reset before auto-scan you may duplicate channels.
Try auto-scan without factory reset, if you're not happy with it do another
auto-scan with fac.reset. Fac. reset will delete FAV lists.
A manual scan usually finds missing chls.& won't delete FAV lists
