Hi, new poster here. I just want to ask some questions about my potential purchase.

1) Which online site has the best reputation with these sort of things? For example, do they have a return policy, etc. I'd also like the site to take Paypal.

2) I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Would the box work okay here and which firmware would you recommend I use?

3) I've heard about an error called something like 8820. Is this common in many units and can it be fixed/returned easily?

4) Can you record to a USB flash drive? I know you can record to a HDD but is it the same with a flash drive?

A lot of questions but I've never bought a cable box from the net before.

never use pay pal but i'm sure some do use it. most sellers on this forum sell gen boxes. should be 1.09 in NI i think.
re 8882 fault..make sure box is off when you put stick in or out, or you may brick it..hope this helps a bit. ynwa

wizard satelites sell geniune boxes ..google it
check the red stickys at the top of the page to see which is the best for northern ireland
beat to take stick out or put in when the box is turned off
yes u can record on a usb stick
if u get stuck there s plenty of good peeps on ere to help

Sorry, but I've got two more questions:

1) I've heard that there are some problems in Ireland with something called Nagra 2 and that the Starview is prone to this. Does this affect me considering I'm in Northern Ireland? Would the 1.07 firmware be okay for NI?

2) I've heard that you also need to download a logo file. Is this true?

I still haven't purchased a box yet as I've been hearing about Nagra 3 and how it's a box killer. Apparently it's already been rolled out in Ireland. Does this include Northern Ireland or only the South for the time being?

not 100% but ni may be ok. but someone should be more informed than me. we may all be cut off eventually, but its anyones guess really, but the sooner you get a box the more you will save if you get my drift, but again its a risk, mate.
