    fixed 8882 fault but can only get fta channels

    i have fixed the 8882 fault but can only get fta channels.
    i have loaded ver7 same as i did when i bought the box and i downloaded ver10, and the beta update. no luck with any of them still just fta. can anybody please help.

      would have asked first where he is uk use v1.07 or irl now latest is v1.12 for originals only,check for heatsink under vent first.after any flash a factory reset and fresh scan and keycode to on is needed.

          duh do i feel dumb!

          i forgot you had to switch the key on in the secret menu.
          do i feel dumb!!

              Starview 4 usb

              Have spent hours today trying to get box up and running. have some channels but not S*y etc. at menu have keyed in 1570 to turn keycode on, but nothing is happening (not getting option). Have tryed to download software from USB stick to box but does'nt seem to be copying. Any help greatly appreciated.

                  i hope this helps

                  all i can say is i have used ver 1.07 of the update.

                  Step 1) Plug in the starview 4 and attach the cable feed to the cable input on the back of the box.


                  Step 2) download the required firmware for the box from digital kaos (downloads section, under starview) currently the required firmware is version 1.07 and place both the firmware and the logo files on to a usb pen drive.

                  Step 3) Insert the usb pen drive into the usb slot at the back of the box and then flick on the power switch also at the rear of the box, and power the box on with the remote.

                  Step 4) press menu on the remote and scroll down to the usb option and hit ok, here you will see the files on the pen drive. Highlight the logo file and press ok. Repeat this with the 1.07 f/w file.

                  Step5) Once the firmware and logo files have loaded onto the box go into menu and key in 1570 with the remote, This will bring you to the secret menu. Highlight keycode and change it to ON.

                  STEP6) Now you?re all set to scan go back into menu and highlight installation and choose automatic scan hit ok and choose the provider for the area you are in (i.e NTL TW EX C&W and so on) Select the correct one and hit ok. The box should now pick up the desired channels. Should it not pick anything up try the scan on a different provider.

                  start a fresh and follow these instructions you cant go wrong if you still have a problem start your own thread you will get more help quicker.

                  i got this from this site and i followed it to the letter and it worked first time. the guys on here know everything thanks again guys.
