dead starview 2 (the box)

My Starview 2 ( the box ) has now died , after a long illness .
It began near a year ago , by powering off , then on again of it's own accord .
It would happen a few times a night and after a few new firmware flashes failed to cure it , i put it down to a hardware fault and have just lived with it since .
I normally keep it on permanently , but found it in darkness today .
Now when i switch it on , the LED's flash from left to right but just stick on the 3rd LED from left and just sits there .
Because of this , i can't do a factory reset and when i try to flash it , the download starts , but after 10secs or so "flash update failed " displays.
Anyone any idea's ?????

2 pin plug not getting a connection,or maybe caps issue inside box so unplug and look for domed or leaking caps.was going to say a bad flash also.using a null modem cable and correct com port.

Thanks for the help Cactikid , found it to be a fault with the psu board .
I tried swapping it with another from an old scrap starview i had , and hey presto , it's back to life !.
