direct feed scan

people are telling me to scan without a cable splitter and do it direct, how do i scan my second box as it is in the other room?when i do scan it does not pick up some channels

Scan both boxes from the main feed into the house. This will (should)pick up al channels on both boxes.
Then move your second box back to the other room. It will (should) keep the channels you scanned from the main feed

yeah i have already done that a few times,it picks up all the channels but when i take the box back into the other room the channels have now been found still dont work, i was thinking about getting a new cable splitter today, would that make a difference?
