    Chipping clones sv4

I bought a sv4 from boxclever on Amazon which after upgrading the software it went dead ,i found out through this site it was a clone, boxclever wouldnt even answer my e-mails except to say that the sv4 has not been cloned .
Amazon gave me a refund, but box clever are still selling on their marketplace.
While i was ploughing through other firms to buy a genuine sv4 ,i noticed a firm selling original chips that you can unsolder and replace the clone chip with, now has anyone tried this ,will this work with a dead clone??

That was for the Starview 1 basically replacing the EEPROM. But there are other ways the firmware can investigate what type of box it is.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

it was a firm that repairs starview boxes ,i rang the engineer and he told me the chips are not available yet to repair the sv4 clones yet ,but im now on his mailing list if they do become available.
