epg not holding information

Hi After upgrading software to 1.12 as instucted by the retailer ( to ensure warranty is still intact) i seem to have a problem with the EPG. When the box is turned to the standby mode and left for a few hours the next time it is used the EPG has lost most of its information and this has to be downloaded again. The record function from the EPG does work OK when the info is there. I am in an ex tw area, has anyone got similar problems

i assume your are talking about the starview 4?

If so have you checked your box is not a clone?
V1.12 is not for clones.

I need to download EPG listings maybe once per day, but then again i dont normally put it on stand by - i just leave it on.

I have had problems with epg listings dissapear but only happens about 11.30pm onwards, i've read on other posts that this is a common problem.

to check your box is not a clone google dvb junkie uk - they sell starview 4's and show pictures of clone vs genuine boxes.

1.12 has a problem with the epg. There is a bug somewhere which they know about.
A lot of people have gone back to 1.07 which seems to work better in UK
