    re-the box super usb problem

hi,you say a change of software from ? to v1.12 made no difference.ls the output to t.v o.k from your vm box,lf you have one o.k,if so try swapping the cable input with sv4 & vm box around.are you just using rf output or scart?ls scart lead or rf lead or splitter causing the problem?eliminate splitter by trying direct cabe feed.what is your signal strength/quality indicating?good luck.

You got a HD TV? I'm thinking of going for the Eurovox 7000, and relgating my SV4 to the bedroom. ?175 though so I'm biding my time for the min.

                  The Box Super USB Problem!!

Appealing to anyone here as an extremely frustrated newbie!! I have a super USB box which was working fine and now it constantly power cycles showing 8888 then 8882 then off? It wont turn on at all its just repeats the same cycle. I have done some reading on here and can verify its a cloned box but I dont know what version is loaded on to it. It was supplied with no USB or anything just the box and instructions.

Can anyone help or advise other than to bin it and kiss goodbye to ?130!!!!!!!!!

                  Thanks

                    re-the box super usb problem

with the genuine sv4 boxes a max 232 interface card is plugged in to the main circuit board, after the cover with the vents is removed.lt is a white flat 4 pin plug.to the best of my knowledge, this plug does not exist on a clone.genuine sv4 boxes usually retail for around 79 pounds.name and shame your supplier if you can't get a refund.also for best results you should have submitted this as a new post as threads can get lost when tagged on the end of others.

                        re-the box super usb problem

At the moment,as far as l am aware, there is not a fix for the 8882 error on clones. On genuine sv4 boxes the max 232 interface is used to download software using a gtrom loader & a null modem cable.this was the method used on earlier boxes i.e sv2 boxes.the max 232 interface converts from rs232 to usb.ln theory if a person had a genuine sv4 box and a clone,it might be possible to wire into the equivelant circuitry of the clone to make the use of the max 232 possible.l don't think anyone has done this yet.my max 232 came supplied with version 1.07 software which as far as l am aware is clone friendly.versions 1.10 & 1.12 are clone killers so l've heard.Just because there is no fix at the moment for your box, doesn't mean there won't be one in the future.l waited three months for the fix for the genuine sv4's to become available.
