Harddrive/USB problem....Please Help

Hello everyone
I have had my box(starview 4 super usb) now for a few months... and was using a 4gb kingston harddrive up until now, which worked fine. But because of the limited space available for recording on the 4gb usb i decided to purchase a 120gb external harddrive. it is a 2.5" one, when it arrived i tried pluggin it in and it said "please reconnect usb stick" so i thought i might need to format to FAT32, i did this using swissnife. and reconnected it to the box but the same message appears. Please can someone help me solve my issue. Thank you in advance

have you turned your box off by the switch at the back of the box before pluging the usb stick in and if so have you pluged your usb stick into a computer to see if it works proplery
