Starview 4 Super USB 8888/8882 problem

Hi All - help requested to try and sort this issue with my SV4. Worked fine for 2 months but now it continually changes from 8888 to 8882 and then off...this will cycle all day if i let it!! I'm new to all this but have established its a cloned box but I dont know what version it is due to not being able to turn it on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance!

There are a few threads on the subject, this is one of them that should help http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-max232-51097/

Also as said in the thread stick to V1.07 with a clone.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

      Followed satsmo's advice, brought a
8882 fix adapter from tailor made curcuits ?15 on line
a null modem lead from maplins ?10
borrowed a usb - com port adapter
could've brought this too for ?4 @ maplins

      uploaded the firmware v1.07
and all is good with the world

Hope this helps You and all who read !!

There were people offering to do this for you around the same price as the bits - but this way if it happens again your bits are your own so No further expence incurred !!

      Thanks Again Satsmo

<cough> A friend just bought a null modem lead, from fleabay, to update my old Eurox Max (blue) That I have leant him, cost him ?1.94 inc P+P. I have always said Maplins were over-priced, I would have rather bought the bits and made it up myself.
