hello guys

trying to flash F/W crystal 1.5 on my starveiw 1 with gtrom 4
im using my laptop
and i am using a usb to rs232 converter with the rs232 cable
im using com port 1 but it says error .It does this on all ports apart from com port 3 which brings up grey box saying ready to flash but says cant flash

i know this is a bit long winded but can anyone help

m8 u have to switch ur box on at the same time u press download everything should work ok ive done loads m8

try to flash it on a old xp pc m8. lappys can be tempramental in some cases..maca

Sounds like the drivers for the usb adaptor. Look in the download section

all drivers are ok
but when i open gtrom4 the STB MODEL says GCR3510
is this right i have a strveiw 1 im not sure what to put in

and when i click download i get this message
Can't open Serial Port
last error the system cannot find file specified
iam using com port1

but if i use com port3 then i get the download bar but then it says flash failed but not with any of the others just same message as above

are you using the correct gtrom (4.0) as when you open this one there should be nothing in the STB MODEL
other versions of the 4 series show GCR3510

correct version here Digital Kaos - Downloads - GTRom v 4.00

which com port should i use as the only 1 that gave me a download bar was comport3 the others gave me the error

ok tried it with no stb model
but its asking for a model

I take it you are using a null modem cable as well as your usb adaptor
if you can get access to a mates desktop with the correct port you should have no trouble

I have gone around this site to look for a solution but had no joy can anyone help please

i have got all the stuff i need gtrom4 cryp1.5 and i am using a usb converter to rs232 cable but everytime i goto update after 30 secs it says flash failed to update

u can try a different gtrom . click on the link below and look in the files for the other one
