Thanks to advice given by satsmo and reading the other threads I have managed to solve the 8882 problem on my sv4 usb.
Here's how i did it...Please Note I'm only posting this in the hope it helps others not plugging any specific people, I would recommend shopping about for best prices !!

You'll need to get a 8882 fix adapter kit bud
Tailor made circuits (on line) sell the 8882 fix adapter (?15)
maplins sell the null modem lead (?10) These are much cheaper on line.
you will also need to get a usb - com port converter - Maplins (?4) if you don't have a com port on your lappers or pc.
Instructions do come with the 8882 adapter.
The adapter plugs into the 4 pronged plug on the circuit board at the back of the USB port set your port settings for the com lead follow the info it takes about 5mins to upload the firmware, unplug switch of and on and it should load as before the 8882 fault.
This set up allows you to update the firmware when the box doesn't load normally, it steps in and reloads the firmware to the box during the boot process.
After you have loaded the new firmware it should boot up propperly, however you should note V1.07 firmware is supposed to be the most stable to use @ present.
No promisses but its worked for me.
