Hi i have a staarview 1 i am trying to re-flash the firmware after a factory reset, however i can't get it to flash as it say's error model number not entered, i have installed a printer, i am running gt4.00 i have also tried gt 4.03 but is no good can anyone help?

Thats what i am doing except i cant get the gtrom loader to work as it comes up with an error msg

Make sure u using Null Modem cable plus if u using usb attachment ,try changing com port

why does he want to flash it ???,it was only a keyroll,factory reset only erases channels,so auto scan your provider and emu to on,you may also need to do a press set default key.

I see what your saying about factory reset that would only require a re-scan.

However, if it's only a keyroll issue if he was using the correct FW then he wouldn't have a problem as it would roll.

So I think he does need to re-flash his SV1 with latest FW according to box....ie clone ...etc

i have tried changing the com port over, but the problem i have is the gt rom loader doesnt have a model number in it when i am trying to load onto the starview.
can anyone help me with this??

You are amazing! Ive been trying to sort my box for the last two days put a hundred different codes in reset everything, restored factory settings, rescanned everything, waited for things to update, made sure emu on . . . . I saw this message with "set default key" - something so simple. . . did that then inputted the codes again. . . .WOO HOO WORKS! Thank you so much.

can i ask as this sound like my problem also. as i have had no problem in the past re-scanning or input new keys when required now all of a sudden nothing.

can you confirm in which order you did everything

I had already put codes in and nothing had happened. Right now I didnt reset anything. I reset my box at the plug as it had froze, then I went onto the secret menu, checked that emu was on, press the "set default key" then gone to nag to get to the keys and changed them to the current ones (check your pm). Made sure to save after both entries . . . exited and wham bam was fine.

Not sure why all this happened but its fine now
