Curious: SV4 NAG keys NT matching Keymaster

Hello All,

First off, this is not a post asking for new codes (which I am sure the MODs and veterans are getting tired of answering), my SV4 is properly updating itself. I have been helping a friend who now has my old Eurovox Max and uses Keymaster. I still have the program installed on my computer and since VM seem to be agresively updating their codes, again, just ran keymaster. I noticed a few weeks ago, looking at the NAG section in the SV4, that they only use the key data, and the key data in there has no bearing on the keys updated within Keymaster.

Now as I say, my box is working fine, I am currently watching NCIS on FX, I am just curious why the key data on the SV4 are not the same as in Keymaster even though I see that Keymaster is recommended to people for updating their SV4?

At the moment I cannot look as I am recording, but from memory, I get the provider id, nothing in the key and then the data. Looking at Keymaster, though, the data is not representative of the data in that program.

At least I did not have have to update the OS to get it to STOP loosing channels. :-) I would want the old remote back. After all, how many remote control units do you know that keep on working after being continuously drven over by an eleccy chair for the last three years? :-))

I was only losing channels cos the previous owner [ahem] couldn't be bothered to update the Firmware

The Old remote is relieved to be in my Hovel -- no more getting run over by your electric wheelchair ...........

I got instructions from the British Museum how to update the Firmware -- and I'm thinking of taking it to the next Antiques Roadshow.....

And >YES< it did AUTO UPDATE this morning !! As did my Digital Hair Curlers !!

EUROVOX RULES !!! Anyway, back to my coffin.....

I did not update the firmware as a) I did not have to (it was working nicely for me, not loosing channels), and b) I was not willing to pay ?1.94 on a null modem lead. :-))

They should build planes out of whatever that remote
was built form.

Maybe I should have updated the firmware as that was a nuisance waiting for Keymaster to be updated.

As for which box rules, can I remind you which forum you are in. :-)
