assume your box was still switched on when you removed usb! this will brick it. always have box switched off when inserting/removing usb stick....

Tipical bloke, just dived in, yes the box was on.
Does brick it mean its now scrap?
              or can it be fixed?

This is my first starview USB, I've only previously had a 1 & 3.
                Excuses, excuses.

always a good idea to read up about the boxes and read the stickies or tuts before you tinker.
