Using the HDD for firmware update on SV PVR twin tuner

Hi peeps, I am new to all of this and as this is my second night without any tv at all please could somebody help.

Firstly I have managed to load StarViewPVR-21122008.bin (1.03 MB) onto my HDD, via a USB connection, now I'm not sure if this is the correct software and I got it from the sticky thread on the S.V forum. I then select the update from the firmware file on my HDD and it then reboots. Next I go into the CAS (i2007) menue and turn on auto update and then change the keys as per the cha**erbox tool bar after selecting the correct ex provider. Then when I try and do an auto scan it doesn't detect any channels, also the System info still shows

I am sorry for the long post but I dont want to waste any of your time. Lastly if I turn the box off and back on it always goes to the language menu and says init on the display.

Please Help, or its a free view box for me!

Cheers for that, but i followed the instructions in the PDF, I did this before my post. Am I using the correct firmware I know it must be something Im doing wrong, I have tried a factory reset before uploading from the HDD but its still the same. When Im putting the firmware onto the HDD am i right to just copy and paste straight from the down load off the sticky thread?

Still none the wiser some things I am not clear on :-

is ther a secrete menu with emu (I have read many post refering to this)
Am I down loading the correct firmware, if so why does my system info still show the prveious one.

I am desperate for some support on this, I have a limited technical background which just about stretches to turning on the washer!!!

there is a secret menu,press menu-system setup-parental control-info-2007,cas menu will be showing scroll down and turn on autoupdate, then exit out to sly spts 1 if ok should get all your channels back.

sorry higgy, didnt read your earlier post ,u already know about cas menu.however if you have already loaded the dec update sucessfully no need to change any key numbersall you need to do is as i said in my last post,nothing else

Got sorted now, I wasnt putting the correct firmware on cheers for the help.
