        update:
just figured out a way to test the phono leads and they don't work either. will try opening up the box and checking for loose connections next.

          Hello again all,

It seems my mate actually sent me the wrong box, as the sound had gone on this one previously and identical boxes getting the same feed were fine, so I guess I can chalk this one up to hardware failure. Judging by the occasional thread I've read I'm not the only one this has happened too.

Mate sent me out another and it turns out to be a Starview 1 clone. I've flashed it with cryptstar 257, which doesn't have autoupdate for codes. I thought I could get the codes off the Starview 3 box but I can't find them anywhere (Nagra under Menu 1570 only lets you enter codes, you can't view them).

Where do people get the codes for the Starview 1? And is there firmware out there that autoupdates the codes?

Thanks in advance for any info

I did that and no joy, but then switched it on and off and now it works! The classic techniques are the best!

Thanks very much for your help
