TheBox logo appears after flashing

Newbie Help!

Hi guys,

I flashed my box with the "The Box 4.57 & Loader" firmware and it all completed successfully. However after the cable box rebooted it displays the logo "TheBox" and won't do anything else.
I believe i have an original (not clone) S2 box as the firmware that was on there originally was:

4.00e_E
Bootloader: 7

Can anyone help?

ok m8 try switching the box on and off from the back. you could always try reflashing it again..

Have tried on/off, same thing - logo appears and won't le me do anything e.g. go to menu etc.
Have tried a re-flash and it says "flash failed".
I hope this is not a brick....

ok when you flash your box. press download and wait a few seconds then turn the box on from the back. this might take a few goes but will sort you out m8...

Do i need to have the box connected to the tv and cable as well?

btw, am i correct in saying that i have a starview2 box?
That has been the hardest thing for me, figuring out what box i have.
It would be nice to have a sticky that easily explains to newbies what type of box they have...

no m8 just connected to your pc.
if its a starview 2 it will say "thebox" on the top left hand side.

It doesn't say "thebox" on the top left hand side, it just says "starview".
This doesn't sound too good....

Now, before i make any more mistakes...i'm looking for the latest firmware so i don't have to enter any manual codes. From the posts here and looking at the d/load section i don't believe there's anyting more that can be done with a starview1 box? I hope i'm wrong...

rescan m8.

auto scan
then menu 1570
turn emu on
then exit out to sly chnnl and let the box update.

Are you sure there isn't a DK General or Jedi Knight level or something?
