I'm considering getting one of the new starview HD boxes, but we all know there will be a few problems to start with - all new recievers have the same fate.

But i really want an HD reciever now, only other option is eurovox - but im starview through n through!

Does anyone know if these boxes have been cloned yet?
Also, is there any firmware available for it yet?

Are these available yet? didn't think they came out till end of the month, maybe wrong tho

the starview with sat tuner is not out untill the end of the month but ?199 with all the speculation of nag3 is a lot of money for something that wont work in the very near future

Ye they are out as of yesterday, theboxdistribution.co.uk have them, also a guy on ebay has them ( i know everyone says ebay is dodgy for cable boxes, but ive used him before and never been a problem, midland-starview is his username for ref).

i dont know about all this nagra 3 talk, do you believe it?its been circling around for a long time. still to see some proof.

i know its alot of ?? but if its a dual tuner then it wont be redundant, could still use it as a freesat box (which are about ?150 anyway).

As for firmware, ive checked the downloads section with no luck. Anyone got a source?

buy a azbox and put a c tuner in it and when cable goes you hae lost ?50 for the c tuner as the azbox can c/s and a lot more
the starview can't there is no ethernet port on the box etc when cable has finished that box has m8

the updates are slow for the azbox at the moment but they are coming slow but sure
its a good box atm for beta s/w /f/w

I've never herd of these azboxes to be honest, just googled them there tho.
think they are a bit over my head,what do you mean by you can put a c tuner in it?

I really dont know whether i should take the chance on the starview hd, mite try holding off a few months to see how the rate.

whats your thoughts on the new kryptview hd box?

these boxes will not arrive till next week, none have arrived at all, thats why software is not available as yet.

eurovox and kryptview are just upscalers, eurovox hd is not that good, cant say what kryptview is like, but as said they are only upscalers, starview will be a proper hd box.

but i would hold on till at least xmas, in case this nag3 does hit, and also most of software niggles will be sorted, also next batch will have a ethernet port for cs etc.

cs is card sharing, google cccam for more info.

the importer has been taking in what people want on his forum, eg 3 pin plug etc, and they said ethernet will be on next batch.

ive sold these boxes for 5 years plus, so i know the main importers, which are wizard satellite.

Are you sure Eurovox EX7000 and Kryptview DW800 are only upscalers? I was pretty sure they were both genuine Hd boxes but can also upscale SD.

Could anyone shine some light on this?

to be honest im not all that interested in the Sat side of the starview, but it could be good for future fiddling. that said, ive heard many opinions that starview hd is useless on the sat side without the ethernet port, true?

serial port will be on these, ethernet will be on next batch arriving in november.
