    USB stick or External HD

I would like to record my favourite programmes, yet I am undecided on which method to use.How many hours of recording can a 16GB stick hold and when you view the recording and do not manage to watch the whole episode, can you pause it at that bit,so as to return at a later date and watch?Any advice on pros & cons of both methods and how much recording time a 8GB or 16GB stick holds?Pls give a make if compatibilty is better on Starviews? Thanks

always best to use external hdd with own power, rather than allowing on power from box, western digital or seagate, no more than 320gb really, most seem to work ok with these.

I use a 16gb Kingsmark USB, 1gb should give 1 hour of recording time. I leave my stick all the time and it does not come to life until the recording starts.
