    what one would you recommend on the vermin network

    new to all this so bear with, I am thinking of connecting a box on the vermin network i have a budget of ?80-100 what would you reccomend for ease of use and easy updates?

    sorry if this question is being repeated but i'm ever so green!!!!

      at the moment I would hang on to your money and wait to see what happens. Virgin are trialling some new encryption in the Leeds area and this has knocked all the boxes out for now, it may be rolled out elsewhere shortly. If I were you I'd wait and see.

              Vermin's content is currently encrypted using Nagra2. This has been cracked, hence we can use dodgy boxes. Nagra 3 is a new encryption which has not yet been cracked. Whether or not this is what is happeniing in Leeds or not I don't know. Eitherway, Vermin are up to something in Leeds as a trial area to see if subscriptions increase, with a view to rolling it out nationwide.

              There are plenty of threads about this in the General Cable section so have a nosey there if you want more info as my knowledge on this is limited. Only you can decide whether or not you buy a Starview, Eurovox or whatever, but be aware that you might not get long out of it.

                      O no its not!!! sly sports 1 gone. prem+ and zee tv all gone. Word is 2 pm today many more will switch off. I live in Leeds test area. Lets hope the other areas get a lot more time before full roll out. I think this was just a general upgrade for HD and other new features and brought the new smart card out at same time. I honestly dont think vermin lose a great deal of money on lost subs due to illegal star view etc. That would justify them spending millions on a crack down. Time will tell. Happy Easter to you all.
