starview 3 doomed, but is version 5

Hi, Looks like my starview 3 is gonna have to be replacd with a new model. My worry is that the starview 5 wont work neither, when I scan I get all the channels but they wont unlock anymore. But what is worrying is that Virmin has put a message on the menu saying if you are using an illegal box then soon it will stop working........and it has!!
So if I get a version 5 is this gonna be knackered to, I know that sv3 has not had new upgrade, so is it that simple.

they both work the same, so dont upgrade to 5. the only starview which will have the chance to work is hd combo.

Can get all channels on telewest and C&W but wont unlock. Worked great for a year then sky went down last week now all channels have.
Have restored to factory settings, rescanned and used 1570 to turn key on. No good, bummer......

why yorkshire, whats the prob...?
