starview hd combo does it work with sky

right i was wondering about getting one of these hd boxes
i have vm and sky now dont know alot about these things so need a bit of advice
1.can these boxes be used on a sky sat if so will i need any other equipment
2.is it the same setup to flash as the starview usb
3.is it worth paying the ?200 to get one will i be able to get all off the sky and vm hd channels

Personally i wouldn't bother. On the cable side VM are in the process of changing their encryption, so no sky channels just free to air stuff same as freeview. As far as i'm aware you can only get freeview channels on the sat tuner using your standard sky dish.

Hi there I need some advice please being a newbe I have a combo+ box with lan and can pic up all channels on the cable but the sky side seems to be locked and the channel listing is very small it only scan thor 3/5 (0.8) is there anyway round this to open all.

I was thinking of going for this box as new house does not have cable installed so thought it would be ideal. Is this still the case? no sky channels using sky dish on hd combo+ ??

Hi, have you tried the reset and rescan routine mentioned in other threads about the combo? If this doesn't work you will probably need to flash the carling firmware if you don't already have it. After repeating the above routine you will need to go to the network menu and register! I'm assuming your combo is connected to the internet also!

Do you need a fugler chip to beat the n3 update? Send your flux capacitor serial number and I will generate the hex code and program onto the fugler chip and post it special delivery.

This Starview HD Combo is doing my head in!!!!

Before anyone says "go and read more notes/ posts", I have read them all, some multiple times, my question is simple but involvesthe sat, c/s and server setup, could anyone pm me so that I can get a start on this and progress cause at the moment I have hit a brick wall, and I see another brick wall behind that. ANY useful info would be gratefully accepted. Help before the men in white coats turn up!!!
