    Starview flashing trouble

    Hi,

Getting a bit frustrated here as I'm sure that I'm probably missing something simple. I've flashed my Starview 1 & Starview 2 a number of times with channel edit bin file plus firmware from time to time with no problems but for some reason on trying to do this on both boxes recently I'm getting a flash failed message.

Got the latest Gtrom loader for both & firmware plus I'm using the correct COM port etc. I've also tried this on another PC but still getting the same problem.

The NULL cable is not very old so I'd be very surprised if it was that. Any reason why I would suddenly have problems with this, as the boxes are both working fine I just wanted to edit the channels.

    Appreciate any help

    Thanks

starview channel editor is a pc program which you use on pc not on box, gtrom you use goes with the firmware for that box only.

Sorry I didn't explain properly. I'm downloading an edited bin file from my PC to the SV but I'm getting flash update fail. I've done this lots of times in the past but never had this error.

Some people are saying to set the download away then power on from the back but I've tried it & it still doesn't work.

Any more help would be appreciated.

        Thanks

I know you're supposed to only download when the clock is on not a channel number. Once you set the download away & power on from the back a channel number comes up, should I be immediately powering off at the front or just leave it.

Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

                  North East in Darlington.

The boxes are working fine I just can't flash them anymore. I did my SV2 a few weeks back with a channel edit & just wanted to download it to the SV1 but now I don't seem to be able to flash either of them.

I'm now thinking NULL cable but I don't see how that's damaged or possibly my previous flashes have altered the settings.

Frustrating when you've been doing this a while with no previous problems.
